Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions from individuals, families, case managers, and community partners. If your question isn't here, just ask.
How do I qualify for services?
Eligibility depends on your needs, support plan, waiver status, and county or case manager approval. It starts with a MnCHOICES assessment through your county. If you're not sure where you stand, call us — we can walk you through it and point you to the right county contact.
What insurance is accepted?
Services are commonly funded through Minnesota Medical Assistance waiver programs, depending on eligibility and authorization. We also work with Medicare, Medicaid, UCare, and HealthPartners.
Is Medicaid accepted?
Yes. Many 245D and HCBS services are funded through Medicaid / Medical Assistance waiver programs.
How soon can services start?
Start time depends on service availability, referral information, waiver authorization, housing availability if applicable, and coordination with the case manager.
What is ICS?
Integrated Community Supports (ICS) is a licensed 245D service that combines supportive housing with training and support. It helps people build skills in community participation, health and wellness, household management, safety, and adaptive skills.
What counties do you serve?
We are growing to serve Ramsey County, Hennepin County, Washington County, Dakota County, Chisago County, Pine County, Scott County, and surrounding Minnesota communities.
Will my loved one be safe?
Safety is one of our highest priorities. We support clients through supervision, skill-building, positive supports, respectful communication, and individualized planning.
How do families communicate with the team?
For consistency and privacy, families should communicate through Midway Homes Adult Care leadership rather than individual caregivers. You can reach our operations manager or owner by phone, text, or email with concerns, updates, goals, or important changes related to your loved one's support.
What makes your approach different?
We advocate, encourage, train, support, and measure progress. Our leadership stays involved, our caregivers are supported, and our services are built around each individual rather than a fixed program.
